Understanding The Problem
Sexual and emotional abuse/harassment in Iran has a higher rate than in most of the countries. The government doesn’t take sexual harassment cases seriously. Also, these topics are strictly considered taboo in Iran society, therefore families are not open to talking and teaching primary subjects to their children which makes them even more vulnerable to becoming abusers or getting abused themselves.
We can tackle these problems from two different angles:
One: Educating young boys who just start learning about social norms and how to interact with girls.
Two: Educating young girls who have been told that it’s not ok to speak up and talk/learn about these subjects, ( not doing so ) is a sign that they are immodest.
Gathering Data
Designing Open-ended questions with the goals of learning directly from psychologists who are working with our potential users and learning about what works and doesn’t work regarding current methods in Iran.
-
How do you work with teenagers regarding the opposite sex, intimacy, and related subjects?
-
What methods do you use if you see abusive behavior in a young boy toward the opposite sex?
-
What method has been successful? Why?
-
What didn’t work? Why do you think it didn’t work?

To understand the target market from children's psychologist's perspectives

Determining the target market

After my interviews with psychologists, we had a meeting with the board to determine the target market by evaluating different aspects of our product, including the impact, user motivations, adaptability and predict retention rate based on our new information.
After considering different aspects of the product, for having the most impact on this issue in Iran, we decided to focus on boys 13-15 years old.
It-Easier to market and get their attention. ( more users )
- More persuasive than older boys and girl’s in the same age group( less retention )
-They are more responsive and adaptable to education and change compared to older boys. ( More impact )
-13-15, old enough to have access to phone/ internet/ social media, young enough to learn and adapt.

B- Surveys
-
Interesting genres from the user’s perspective for games/stories
-
What are their favorite subjects in this area ( connecting to the opposite sex )
-
What they like most/least in similar apps
B- Card sorting
-
20 boys 13-15, have been asked to sort these cards based on their interest level in these subjects.

-
In our card sorting sessions, 20 participants organized topics based on what they were most interested in what they were least interested in. It helps us for designing information architecture for our product as well as working on branding and marketing based on our user’s priority.

Main reasons that causes this problem based on the data

Persona

Mobina, 15 years old
He is a student. After school, he goes out with his friends. He doesn't agree with sexual bullying. However, he never says anything. He doesn't want to be alone or rejected by his group of friends.
Emotions: Fear of rejection and being left out by his peers
Needs: want to be accepted, be wanted among his peers.
Note: He may be more welcome to educational content about girls and their emotions. However, still we need to keep it fun.

Ideation
I created a Miro board for them, to agree on the problem that we want to solve and then start ideating.
After that using the protection matrics, we chose the features that we want to focus on.
